Nifedipine has been used to help heal anal fissures. It is also used to treat anal sphincter spasm, painful haemorrhoids and pelvic floor spasm.
Description
Nifedipine is used in the treatment of anal fissures (tears). It relaxes the smooth muscle around the anus and promotes a healthy blood flow. This in turn helps to heal fissure. Nifedipine also helps to reduce anal canal pressure which further reduces spasms and pain.
