DHEA creams are most commonly used in people undergoing bio-identical hormone replacement. Our DHEA creams are made in a paraben free base with bio-identical DHEA unless otherwise requested. Description
DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone) is an important steroid hormone found in the body. It is secreted by the adrenal glands and readily converts to testosterone and oestrogen. This is why your Doctor considers it important to get your hormonal levels checked on a regular basis to ensure optimal benefits with minimal side effects.
Topical DHEA is often prescribed for patients using Bio-Identical Hormone Therapy. It is widely used for its anti-aging benefits. Since it declines with age, it is plausible that supplementing with DHEA could minimise age-related symptoms. DHEA is also recognised for its immune boosting effects, its benefits in autoimmune diseases, in helping prevent atherosclerosis, its protective effects against osteoporosis & as a treatment for infertility.
Your doctor has prescribed a bio-identical form of DHEA (meaning exactly the same molecule as the one nature designed in your body since birth), thus side effects are absent as long as physiological levels are used.
