Podophyllotoxin is used as one of the treatment options in genital warts. Irritation can occur at the site of application.
Description
Podophyllin is used in the treatment of genital warts. It is a cytotoxic agent and causes cell death (1). Untreated visible genital warts may resolve spontaneously, remain the same, or increase in size. The primary treatment goal is removal of symptomatic warts. Therapy choice is based on the size, site and number of lesions.
